Sandi Simons

Sandi is a lifelong horsewoman who has been influenced and trained by the best across the world.

Having been a horse rider her whole life, Sandi has also prioritised her five children, with her first born when she was just 14 years of age.  Her life has been a mix of highs and lows but was always underpinned by her love of horses.

After having her last two children and wanting to return to the saddle, Sandi found she had lost her nerve and confidence and looked for a training system to help reinvigorate her desire to ride. As there was nothing which aligned with her ethics, values and needs, Sandi sat down and developed the training systems ’Cowgirl Dressage’ and ‘Creating Confidence’.

These training systems provide the opportunity for women to train horses in a manner that develops obedience, flexibility and balance for all disciplines, regardless of the horse, breed, size or age. It is a combination of the principles of groundwork, liberty and ridden work. All women are encouraged regardless of discipline, whether they are a “nervous Nellie”, a beginner, an experienced rider, or ‘of that certain age’ and getting back into horses.

Nowadays, Sandi criss-crosses Australia delivering clinics, training programs and week-long camps.  Through these clinics, programs and camps, Sandi has helped thousands of women re-discover their love and connection with horses and riding right through to high level riders improving their performance and results.  Sandi also hosts joint clinics with other clinicians.

Liberty training is one of Sandi’s absolute passions, Sandi was one of the first clinicians to incorporate Liberty training into her training program and now holds many liberty clinics throughout Australia.

To further promote her passion to help riders and their horses, Sandi developed a series of 12 month to 2-year training programs on a range of subjects including trail riding, liberty and a trainer’s program.

Sandi is a household name throughout the horse industry in Australia with a strong reputation as a warm, empathetic, down to earth and ethical trainer and mentor.
